Hollister Dublin emergency personnel evacuated an estimated three dozen Hollister residents overnight after Turkey Creek swelled approximately 15 feet in 25 minutes.
City Administrator Rick Ziegenfuss said he headed into the city about 1:30 a.m. Thursday morning.
“The city was fine,” he said. “All roads were passable.”
He and other city officials continued to monitor the weather and roads in Hollister.
At 3:20 a.m., he said, everything was still OK.
“By 3:45 a.m., Turkey Creek had risen 15 feet in a 20-minute period of time," he said. "It was pretty violent.”
He said the water spilled over the St. James Street Bridge in Hollister.
Western Taney County Fire Protection provided water rescues.
Ziegenfuss said they performed an approximate 25 rescues on at the Hidden Valley Mobile Home Park, 10 on Old Mill Road and another two on Hulland Park Drive.
